Reinforcement

The type and quantity of reinforcement used in a specific concrete floor is determined by the design of the project. The installation of the reinforcement is made either before the concrete is poured in case there is a double layer of conventional reinforcement made with steel bars or steel meshes . In case the floors are reinforced with steel fibres, the fibres are added in the batching plant to ensure an optimal integration in the concrete. It is also possible to make a combination of both steel mesh and steel fibre reinforcement. In that case the steel meshes are installed during the concrete pouring process, allowing us to work with a Laser Screed The type and quantity of steel fibres to be used depends on the outcome of the design calculation made by the designer of the floor.

The designer of a concrete floor should take into account both the advantages and disadvantages of each type of reinforcement.
